Privacy policy

Plain language about what we collect, why we need it, and what we never do with it.

Who we are

Top Tier Auto Collision, 11782 Sheldon St, Sun Valley, CA 91352 — an auto body and collision repair shop. This policy covers toptierautocollision.com and the estimate requests you send through it. Questions go to info@toptierautocollision.com or (626) 646-7117.

What we collect

What you choose to send us. Through the estimate form or by email: your name, phone number and email address; your vehicle's year, make and model; which panels are damaged and whether the car is drivable; whether you need a tow; your insurance company and claim number if you have one; anything you write in the message box; and the photos you attach.

What the server records automatically. Our hosting provider logs ordinary technical information with every request — IP address, browser and device type, the page requested and the time — which is used to keep the site up and to block abuse. We do not combine those logs with your estimate request to build a profile of you.

In the language California uses, the categories of personal information we collect are: identifiers (name, phone, email, IP address), commercial information (your vehicle and the repair you are asking about), insurance information, visual information (the photos you send) and internet activity (server logs). We do not collect Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, payment card numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data or any information about health, race, religion, union membership or sexual orientation — please do not send those.

Why we have it

  • To answer your estimate request and tell you what the repair involves
  • To reach you about your vehicle while it is with us
  • To work your insurance claim with your adjuster, when you ask us to
  • To order the right parts and arrange towing or sublet work for your repair
  • To keep our records of work performed, as a repair shop is required to do
  • To keep this website secure and working

We contact you about the request you sent. We do not add you to a marketing list, and we do not send promotional text messages.

Who we share it with

The categories of third parties who may see your information, and the only reasons they do:

  • Your insurance company — when you have asked us to handle your claim, so the adjuster can review the estimate, the photos and any supplement.
  • Parts suppliers, towing operators and sublet shops — the minimum needed to order a part for your vehicle or to move or finish the job.
  • Our technology providers — the company that hosts this website and the service that delivers our email. They process information on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes.
  • Professional advisers and authorities — our accountant or lawyer when needed, and law enforcement or a regulator such as the Bureau of Automotive Repair when the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have never done so, including in the 12 months before the date on this page. We also do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing use, so there is nothing to request under California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code § 1798.83).

Cookies, analytics and tracking

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising pixels or social media trackers, and the fonts are served from our own site rather than a font company's. The one piece of third-party content, the Google map on our contact page, loads only if you press the button to load it. The full detail is in our cookie policy.

Third parties do not collect information about your activity across other websites through this site, because there is nothing here that would let them.

Do Not Track

Some browsers can send a Do Not Track signal, and some send a Global Privacy Control signal. This site does not track visitors across websites or over time, and does not sell or share personal information, so our behavior is the same whether or not your browser sends one of those signals. We do not authorize anyone else to track you here either.

How long we keep it

If your request does not become a repair, we keep it only as long as it is useful to follow up — generally no more than two years. If we do work on your vehicle, the estimate, invoice, photos and related records are kept for at least the period California requires repair shops to retain them, and longer where an insurance claim, warranty or legal matter is still open. Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes.

How we protect it

The site is served over an encrypted connection, estimate requests are delivered to our email rather than stored in a public database, and access is limited to the people at the shop who need it. No system is perfect, and we cannot promise absolute security.

Your choices

Write to us and you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop contacting you. We will respond within 45 days. We may need to keep records we are legally required to keep — repair invoices, for example — and we will tell you when that is the reason.

California residents have rights under state privacy law, including the right to know, delete and correct, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We honor these requests from anyone who asks, regardless of whether the law applies to a business our size, and we will never treat you differently for exercising them. To make a request, email info@toptierautocollision.com or call (626) 646-7117. We may need to verify who you are before we hand over information about a vehicle or a claim.

Children

This site is for people arranging vehicle repairs and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us something, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we post the revised version on this page and update the effective date at the top. When a change materially affects how we handle information we already hold — for example if we started using analytics or sharing information with a new kind of partner — we will say so prominently on this page for at least 30 days, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent before the change applies to you. The date above tells you which version you are reading.
