How we do it

  1. 01

    Identify the color

We start from your paint code and tint to the car in front of us — factory colors vary between batches and age differently in the sun.

  2. 02

    Prepare the surface

Damaged finish is sanded, repaired and primed so the new paint has a sound base.

  3. 03

    Spray booth application

Color and clearcoat go on in a controlled booth environment to keep dust out and the finish consistent.

  4. 04

    Blend

Color is blended into adjacent panels so light hits the repair and the original paint the same way.

  5. 05

    Cure, cut & polish

The finish is cured, then refined and polished to match the surrounding gloss.

Paint FAQ

Questions we hear most about auto painting & paint matching. Anything else, call us — we'll give you a straight answer.

Why paint panels that weren't damaged?

To blend. Even with a perfect formula, a new panel beside aged original paint can look different in sunlight. Blending the color into neighboring panels makes the repair invisible.

How soon can I wash my car after painting?

We'll give you care instructions for your repair. As a rule, hand-wash gently and skip automatic car washes and waxing for the first few weeks while the finish fully cures.

Can you fix peeling clearcoat?

Yes. Peeling clearcoat can't be glued back down — the panel is sanded and refinished. It's common on sun-baked roofs, hoods and trunks across Southern California.
